Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. He is an actor, known for The Crying Game (1992), Hear My Song (1991) and My Left Foot: The Story of Christy Brown (1989). He has been married to Anna Nygh since 1986. He later graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (Class of 1983).　　He originally played the part of Bail Organa, Princess Leia's adopted father, in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999). The scene was cut and he was replaced by Jimmy Smits in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005).　　He has one daughter, Madeleine (born 1987) by his marriage to Anna Nygh, a part-time actress who now practices holistic massage and shiatsu.
